Keynote presentation on BoardsCount™ at NAVCA’s Governance Conference launched BoardsCount™ 08

19th February 2008

John Tierney, Director of transform management consultancy launched BoardsCount™ ’08 including some new features at the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action’s (NAVCA) governance conference called ‘Pathways to Sustainability’ on 19 February in Birmingham.
Commenting on the findings of BoardsCount™ ’07, which was launched at the NCVO/On Board conference on 8 October 2007, John said that it was vital that umbrella organisation like local councils for voluntary service (CVS) practice what they preach. “CVS’s must set an example in terms of their own governance if they are to have credibility in their work with their members to foster higher standards of governance in the local community sector”, he said.
BoardsCount™ ’08 will help CVSs compare their governance practices and benchmark themselves against the best in the sector. “Register your interest now!” he suggested. Amongst the new features of BoardsCount™ ’08 are easier online data entry and simpler summary scorecard charts. See www.BoardsCount.com for more details. It seems there may be a glass ceiling on third sector boards. If this is the case, we need to challenge and change that.” For more details, download a summary report ...
