Ed Thorpe offers independent project evaluation and strategic review with specialisms in the not-for-profit sector and European networks. He has particular experience of evaluating EU-funded projects of European NGO networks focused on campaigning, awareness raising, service delivery and network development. Ed has strong analytical skills and a clear focus on delivering meaningful conclusions and recommendations to help organisations improve their work and strengthen their impact. He is experienced at evaluating the work of organisations that cannot measure their success simply against a financial bottom-line, using quantitative and qualitative data drawn from surveys, interviews and desk research.
Ed is particularly motivated to work with organisations pursuing social, environmental, developmental or rights-based objectives. Issues worked on have included combating poverty, homelessness, active ageing and age-based discrimination, service delivery for people with mental health issues, seafarers’ welfare, indebtedness of developing countries, the effectiveness of aid, child rights, climate change and nature conservation.
Ed also offers writing and editing services, and debate moderation or event chairship. His clients have included both European NGO networks and the European institutions. Our People & Partners
